A longtime fixture of ESPN's flagship "SportsCenter" program has signed off from the WorldWide Leader.
Veteran broadcaster Trey Wingo, whose expected departure was first reported in the fall, bid farewell to his coworkers and fans on social media on Wednesday night.
The 57-year-old presenter, who joined ESPN in the late 1990s, did not have his contract renewed upon its expiration.
Wingo covered a series of ESPN programs throughout his career, but in recent years had been most associated with NFL programs, including NFL Draft coverage.
It was unclear where Wingo would end up next, but it's not hard to imagine him catching on relatively quickly given his visibility and seeming popularity with sports fans.
