Woman arrested in shooting death of man in north Minneapolis, no arrests in south side shooting death

A man in his forties was found shot to death Friday night in north Minneapolis.  

The call came in at 7:48 p.m. and a woman at the home on the 4000 block of Humbolt Avenue North at first told police the man had shot himself.

"The evidence at the scene did not match up with the story provided by her," said the MPD's John Elder. "We certainly realized that things were not matching up."

The woman, who is in her 30's, was arrested and police believe she knew the victim.

Names are not released in the 39th reported homicide of the year in Minneapolis.

On Saturday, a man was shot to death in south Minneapolis.  

Officers arrived at the scene on the 1500 block of 19th Street East at 5:24 p.m. and found the wounded man on the ground.  

He later died at HCMC.  

Names are not released and there are no arrests.

The shooting brings to 41 the number of reported homicides in Minneapolis in 2020.
