The Minnesota Twins have reportedly made their first splash into free agency ahead of the 2021 season.
ESPN's MLB insider Jeff Passan reports that the Twins and the lefty have agreed to a one year deal.
Happ last pitched for the New York Yankees in 2020. He was 2-2 with a 3.47 ERA in nine starts. He also had a 1.05 WHIP in 49.1 innings. He boasts a 123-92/3.98/1.30 career slash line in 14 big league seasons.
Happ will likely fit into the back end of the starting rotation behind Kenta Maeda and Jose Berrios. Other potential starters include Michael Pineda, Lewis Thorpe, Randy Dobnak and Jhoan Duran.
