Legendary News Talk 830 WCCO and Star Tribune sports reporter Sid Hartman passed away Sunday at the age of 100.

My father’s extraordinary and resilient life has come to a peaceful conclusion surrounded by his family.

We used to joke that Sid Hartman would outlive us all but it was only half a joke. So many thoughts racing through my mind rwith news of his death. I started at the Strib in 1989 and we were talking about Sid retiring then. Eventually, that talk just stopped it. What a career.

I mean, Sid Hartman has a column in TODAY’S paper. It’s cliche to say there will never be another like him, but the amazing thing is that there was ever one like him at all.
