After David Ortiz was released from Mass General Hospital on Friday, following being shot in the back while in the Dominican Republic, the Red Sox legend took to Instagram to update fans.

Although the photos of the food he posted probably look delicious after being in the hospital for so long, he reports that he “can’t crush food yet.” But, Ortiz also shared being home safe with his family is priceless, and thanked everyone for sending prayers during his recovery.

The former Red Sox slugger still has a long road ahead of him.

According to ESPN, Ortiz will continue with rehab at home, and will be closely monitored by full-time nurses.

Being at home and look at my family celebrating that lm here safe is priceless... Thank for all the prayers ---- Too bad l can’t crush food yet --!!!! Estando ya en casa y viendo a mi familia celebrarlo no tiene precio gracias por todas sus oraciones ----... lo único malo es que no puedo matar la liga comiendo todavía --!!!
