White House misspells Red Sox in announcement about team’s visit on official site, YouTube page

By WEEI 93.7

The White House posted an announcement on its official website on Thursday about the Red Sox’ scheduled visit to honor their World Series win but made a pretty big typo in the headline.

Instead of “Red Sox” the headline named the team as the “Red Socks.”

The @WhiteHouse spelled @RedSox as "Red Socks" on its website and @YouTube pages ahead of today's event: "President Trump Welcomes the 2018 World Series Champions The Boston Red Socks to the White House" (it's now fixed). https://t.co/lZAttYHWMS pic.twitter.com/0cwmlanq0D

The typo was also on the YouTube page for the event and was corrected shortly after 10 a.m.
