After multiple reports indicated the Celtics were still somehow in on Al Horford, it turns out he was, in fact, looking elsewhere.
According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Al Horford is heading to Philadelphia on a four-year, $109 million deal. Of the $109 million, $97 million is guaranteed. The remaining $12 million are bonuses “tied to championships,” per Woj.
The deal was struck after the 76ers sent Jimmy Butler to Miami on a sign-and-trade. The Heat sent Josh Richardson to Philly in the trade, which was also reported by Woj.
Woj reported on ESPN's "The Jump" that the Celtics did offer Horford a four-year deal, though Boston was offering "significantly less" money than Philly.
