Andrew Benintendi? From leadoff to No. 8

Kevin Pillar is moving up to No. 2.

J.D. Martinez is sliding down one spot.

Mitch Moreland sitting ... again.

No Rafael Devers or Jackie Bradley Jr.

When it comes to the lineup, Ron Roenicke is anything but predictable.

The Red Sox manager has shaken up the batting order once again, this time stacking the top of the lineup with right-handed hitters against Mets starter Steven Matz, who lefty hitters were actually better against (.270) than right-handers (.258) in 2019.

Here is what Roenicke has concocted against the Mets with Martin Perez on the mound for the visitor:

Jose Peraza 3B

Kevin Pillar CF

J.D. Martinez DH

Xander Bogaerts SS

Christian Vazquez C

Alex Verdugo RF

Michael Chavis 1B

Andrew Benintendi LF

Jonathan Arauz 2B
