Elandon Roberts' fullback career appears to be over

By WEEI 93.7

One of the major storylines of last season for the Patriots was linebacker Elandon Roberts playing fullback following James Develin landing on injured reserve and the team not really having anyone else.

Roberts even had a touchdown on a 38-yard reception at the end of a year.

But, after he signed with Miami as a free agent, it appears his days as a fullback are over.

Roberts posted a picture to Instagram of his new No. 44 Dolphins jersey and Dont'a Hightower commented: "Oooh...just make sure you keep yo ass on defense bih lol handle that lol lil."

He replied: "lol you already know big brother I'll NEVER be back on that side again."

While it was never expected Roberts would have a fullback role in Miami, it does raise the question did he actually like doing it last year in New England?

"Am I a fullback now? No," he said at one point last year. "Am I 100 percent a linebacker? Yes. But when them guys need me on that offensive side because of the circumstances that we have this year, I'm gonna go out there and give 100 percent just like I'm on the defense."
