Josh McDaniels watch likely will extend at least another day

By WEEI 93.7

It appears the Browns will not be making a head-coaching hire on Friday.

Josh McDaniels, who spent the day at the Browns' facility interviewing for their vacant head-coaching job, left around 5 p.m. and according to multiple reports, the Browns do not plan on announcing a hire Friday night.

The Patriots' offensive coordinator was the eighth and final person the team is interviewing.

It appeared Cleveland wanted to make a hire by the end of the weekend, but's Mary Kay Cabot says the organization will let it all play out, even through the postseason if need be.

McDaniels is likely competing against 49ers defensive coordinator Robert Saleh, Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy, Eagles defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz and Vikings offensive coordinator Kevin Stefanski for the job.
