After having just two quarterbacks over the first seven years of his career, Mohamed Sanu will now have his third in two seasons following the Patriots adding Cam Newton a few days ago.
Sanu, who was traded to the Patriots from Atlanta before the trade deadline last season, reacted to the team adding Cam Newton during an appearance on The Game 92.9 in Atlanta.
“I was like, ‘Cam is our quarterback?’ I didn’t really believe it,” he said. “It didn’t really hit me until after. It’s dope. Somebody with his drive and his determination, the way he plays the game. He’s just a guy that works hard. I have seen him train before, so I know the type of player he is and type of person he is. I look forward to it.”
The wide receiver also reacted to being traded to the Patriots following 3.5 years in Atlanta.
“It was definitely tough,” he said. “The NFL is a business and I accept it for what it is. I mean, I can’t hold any hard feelings or hold any grudges, but I look forward to the next chapter and what my next steps of my career look like.
"Just take advantage of every opportunity. Yeah, I loved playing in Atlanta, I enjoyed it. Now, I am just going to take advantage of this new opportunity.”
Sanu is looking to rebound following a tough eight games with the Patriots, but is said to be full strength following offseason ankle surgery.
