The University of Rhode Island had three players at the NFL Combine, which was the most of any school in New England and the FCS.
And at least one of them has had contact ahead of the draft with the Patriots.
Speaking with Yianni Kourakis of WPRI 12, wide receiver Aaron Parker said he's spoken to the Patriots recently.
"I got on FaceTime with the Patriots probably about four days ago," he said. "Me and the wide receivers coach talked about how I am doing through these times, how I am still training, breaking down some film with me, breaking down some coverages -- just seeing how I am doing. Embracing the process, stuff like that."
It's unclear who exactly the wide receivers coach is after Joe Judge departed to the Giants to become their head coach. One possibility is Troy Brown.
Parker, who is expected to be a late-round selection, finished last season with 81 catches, 1,224 yards and nine touchdowns.
