The Patriots made a trade on Sunday.
Bill Belichick swung a deal with good friend Matt Patricia and the Lions to acquire cornerback Michael Jackson in exchange for an undisclosed 2022 draft pick.
Jackson was drafted by the Cowboys last season in the fifth round and started the year on the practice squad before being signed by the Detroit 53-man roster. He only appeared in one game with the Lions.
He will add depth to a loaded cornerback position with the Patriots.
New England, like all other NFL teams, are going through phases working their way towards full-padded practices Aug. 17.
