As always, the Patriots do what they can to be ready for anything.

According to Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle, the Patriots will host undrafted rookie punter Alex Kinney for a free agent work out.

Yes, the Patriots have Jake Bailey, who was very impressive in his rookie season, but the Patriots are doing what they can to be ready in case of emergency. What if Bailey were to get injured, or even have to go on the COVID list? The Patriots would then need to add another punter and they like to have as much background information on their options as possible.

Kinney appeared in 54 games for the University of Colorado and averaged 44.4 yards per punt last season.

He did not get drafted and did not sign with any team as an undrafted rookie free agent.
