Tom Brady has known his new team in 2020 for several weeks and now he knows who his backup will be.
While it will be new for him, it's a familiar face for the Buccaneers.
According to NFL Media's Ian Rapoport, Blaine Gabbert is re-signing with Tampa Bay on a one-year deal.
The 30-year-old spent last year with Tampa Bay, but did not see any action as he was placed on injured reserve in late September with a dislocated shoulder. Prior to Tampa Bay, he played for three other teams and started 48 NFL games.
There was some thought the Bucs could target Brian Hoyer, one of Brady's long-time backups, but he was scooped up by the Patriots following his release from Indy.
