Patriots place special teamer Brandon King on reserve/PUP list, which opens roster spot

The Patriots made a minor transaction on Tuesday.

Brandon King has been placed on the reserve/PUP list, which means he has to miss at least the first six games of the regular season and does not counts towards the team’s active roster while on the list.

King missed all of last season with a torn quad.

This potentially opens a roster spot for a player who can contribute on special teams as that was King's main role.

New England now has two open roster spots.
