Kai Forbath waived by Patriots, former Eagles defensive tackle added

By WEEI 93.7

It was a one-game stint for kicker Kai Forbath.

According to ESPN's Field Yates, the Patriots have waived the veteran kicker after he was signed late last week following Nick Folk needing an appendectomy. Forbath missed an extra point in the Patriots' 28-22 loss to the Texans Sunday night.

As for the corresponding move, the team has signed defensive tackle Albert Huggins following his release from the Eagles last week. The undrafted rookie out of Clemson played in four games for them this season and totaled three tackles. With the injury to Bryon Cowart (head), perhaps the team is looking for more depth at that position.

[UPDATE 7 p.m.>: The moves have been made official.

For the moment, the Patriots do not have a kicker, but don't be surprised if Folk is brought back. He still had a locker in the Patriots locker room as of Friday afternoon.

The Patriots host the Chiefs next Sunday.
