The Red Sox have upgraded their left-handed pitching options this week.
On Friday, the team acquired left-hander Matt Hall in a trade with the Tigers for minor league catcher Jhon Nuñez. This is the second lefty the team has added this week.
The 26-year-old split time last year between the majors and Triple-A. In 122 minor league appearances (85 starts), Hall is 33-15 with a 2.97 ERA. All his major league appearances (16) have come out of the bullpen.
Nuñez, 25, spent all of 2019 with Double-A Portland and was named an Eastern League mid-season All-Star.
The Red Sox will make a corresponding move to get Hall onto the 40-man roster.
