Tom Brady and Odell Beckham Jr. have always seemed to admire each other from afar over the years.
There's been a lot of interaction via social media, and then following Sunday's Patriots-Browns game, not only did the two catch up on the field, Brady also waited outside the Browns locker room with his middle child Ben to meet the Browns wide receiver.
"My oldest son lives in New York and he’s a big fan of his and all the kids at school in New York after he made that catch was, ‘OBJ! OBJ! OBJ!’ So then my son Benny from his older brother got to know who he was. It was pretty nice," Brady said Monday on The Greg Hill Show. "He’s a great player. I always wish him a lot of success. They are going to keep plugging along there and we’re going to keep plugging along here and see how it shakes out at the end of the year.”
On the field after the game, Beckham Jr. gifted Brady goat hair cleats.
“I have them. That was pretty cool. That was very, very nice of him," Brady said. "It’s pretty unique. I have never had anyone do that for me. It was very thoughtful. I certainly appreciate it.”
The Patriots beat the Browns, 27-13, to improve to 8-0 on the year. Brady finished 20-for-36 passing for 259 yards and two touchdowns, while Beckham Jr. had five catches for 52 yards.
