Name: Yetur Gross-Matos
School: Penn State
Position: Defensive end
Why the Patriots might draft him: The Patriots could use some pass-rushing help, and Gross-Matos should be available in the late first round.
What is he good at: Rushing the passer. Gross-Matos made the All-Big Ten First Team each of the past two seasons, recording 17 sacks and 34.5 tackles for a loss during that time. He has good size and length at 6-foot-5 and 266 pounds, and could contribute immediately despite being considered a bit of a raw prospect in terms of technique.
And then there is this: As outlined in the story linked above, Gross-Matos had to deal with two devastating tragedies as a child. When he was just two, his father died while saving Gross-Matos from drowning. Nine years later, his brother Chelal was killed when he was struck by lightning on a baseball field.
