Tuukka Rask and David Pastrnak were both "unfit to participate" Monday, but Bruins coach Bruce Cassidy said he expected both of them to be back on the ice and ready to go Tuesday for Game 1 against the Hurricanes.
It appears that is in fact the case. Speaking to the media before the game, Cassidy confirmed Rask will start in goal. Rask and Pastrnak both took part in Tuesday's optional morning skate, so Pastrnak should be good to go as well.
On the other side, a familiar face is expected to return to Carolina's lineup, as coach Rod Brind'Amour said defenseman Dougie Hamilton will skate in pregame warmups and is expected to play. Hamilton suffered an undisclosed injury last month -- one that was reportedly unrelated to the fractured fibula he suffered in January -- and missed the Hurricanes' play-in series against the Rangers.
The only change to the Bruins lineup from Sunday's round-robin finale against the Capitals is that Matt Grzelcyk goes back into his usual spot on the third defense pairing next to Jeremy Lauzon. Ondrej Kase remains on the second line while the third line will once again be Nick Ritchie, Charlie Coyle and Anders Bjork.
Here is the expected Bruins lineup:
