The idea of a Gordon Hayward-for-Myles Turner trade isn't new.

The Celtics have been connected to Turner as they look for ways to upgrade their frontcourt. Reports that the Pacers are interested in Hayward have been around for a few weeks now.

Seems to be a natural match, right? The Celtics and Pacers might agree, as Evan Massey of the NBA Analysis Network reports that the two teams have "discussed the framework" of a Hayward-for-Turner trade.

Massey adds that the deal would likely be Hayward and the Celtics' 14th overall pick for Turner. Other reports have suggested that the Celtics were trying to package the No. 14 pick and their other two first-round picks to move up into the top 10 -- and then potentially flip that pick to New Orleans for Jrue Holiday -- so including it in this deal would put an end to that possibility.

Turner is a 24-year-old, 6-foot-11 center who has averaged at least 12.1 points, 6.4 rebounds and 1.8 blocks per game each of the last four seasons. He is under contract for three more seasons at $18 million per year.

Hayward could opt out of the final year of his deal next week, but could opt in or renegotiate a new deal if he gets traded to a situation he likes.
