Even though Cam Newton was pulled in the second half of Sunday's 33-6 loss to the 49ers, Bill Belichick said immediately after the game he will be sticking with Newton as the starter.

Appearing on Ordway, Merloni & Fauria Monday, Belichick was asked why?

“I think he's our best player there, so again there are other problems offensively," he said. "There are things we need to do better and that is what we're going to work on. I think we have our best players out there. We just have to find a way to be more productive. We have been at times, but we certainly weren’t yesterday, and we need to see if we can improve that.”

Against the 49ers, Newton was 9-for-15 with 98 yards and three interceptions. For the year, he's thrown two touchdowns to seven interceptions.

Newton and the Patriots will take on the Bills in Buffalo this Sunday, which is as close to a must-win November game as the team will get.
