For the second straight week, the Patriots do not have a kicker on their active roster.
After being added to the roster for the game against the Dolphins, Nick Folk was returned to the practice squad Monday joining rookie Justin Rohrwasser.
Folk missed a 45-yard field goal just before halftime on Sunday, but made all three of his extra points.
As for what the Patriots will do this week?
“We’re just taking it day-by-day right now and we’ll just see, as long as we continue to improve, we’ll progress forward,” special teams coordinator Cam Achord said on a video conference Tuesday.
Achord said the team is pleased with both kickers.
“We’re happy with both guys," he said. “They’re continuing to improve and each day we’re going out there and new challenges, trying to work with each guy. With the situation we’re in, obviously coach is going do what’s best for the team and maximize the amount of people we can have and everything.”
Both kickers are eligible to be added to the active roster as part of the two players each week that can be promoted from the practice squad, but Folk can only have it done one more time before he needs to be added to the 53-man roster.
