The Patriots could be looking to upgrade their roster beyond just the upcoming NFL trade deadline.
According to ESPN's Mike Reiss, the team had three players in for COVID testing and eventual workouts. Those players are wide receiver Donte Moncrief, wide receiver Darius Jennings and defensive tackle Ryan Glasgow.
These positions are obviously areas of need.
Moncrief has five years of NFL experience, mostly with the Colts. His best years came in 2015 when he had 733 yards receiving and then 2018 when he had 668 yards receiving. He spent last year with the Panthers and Steelers. The veteran spent the summer with the Jets, but did not make the active roster.
Jennings has three years of experience and has appeared in 28 career games totaling 27 receptions, while Glasgow also has three years of experience and has 41 tackles in 24 games.
