Patriots make series of roster moves, including releasing recently acquired WR Isaiah Ford

As is the case ahead of every game this season, the Patriots made a series of roster moves on Saturday.

There are as follows:

— Signed wide receiver Donte Moncrief and defensive tackle Akeem Spence to the 53-man roster.
— Elevated outside linebacker Rashod Berry from the practice squad.
— Activated rookie tight end Dalton Keene from injured reserve.
— Released wide receiver Isaiah Ford.

Given Spence and Moncrief’s contributions last week against Arizona, their signings are not much of a surprise. As for Ford, who was acquired via trade with the Dolphins at the deadline, he has been jumped by Moncrief on the depth chart. The Patriots gave up a conditional draft pick, so given he never played for them, perhaps nothing will have to be given up at all.

Devin Asiasi remains on injured reserve, so it would seem the Patriots feel more confident in Keene at this point in their rookie seasons.

The Patriots will take on the Chargers Sunday in L.A.
