It looks like Robert Kraft might be serious about this Mets thing, after all.
According to the New York Post, Kraft and his son Jonathan met with Alex Rodriguez, Jennifer Lopez and bankers from JPMorgan Chase to discuss both a possible bid on the baseball franchise and the potential development of Willets Point around Citi Field. The report states that the meeting took place in Foxboro on July 9.
It is well-known Rodriguez and Lopez have shown interest in putting together a group that could take a run at buying the Mets.
The level of Kraft's interest in the project remains uncertain, although it was interesting to note that the five-hour meeting included a tour of Patriot Place and other parts of the development in the Gillette Stadium area.
