In Sunday's Week 1 win over the Dolphins, veteran Brian Hoyer was the backup quarterback and second-year QB Jarrett Stidham was inactive.

Stidham was limited in some training camp sessions with a reported hip injury, so was he the third-string quarterback this week because of injury?

“Everybody’s physical condition is listed on the injury report," Bill Belichick said on Ordway, Merloni & Fauria Monday. "If they’re not on the injury report then their not injured, if they’re on the injury report then we list their injury.”

Will Hoyer continue to be the backup moving forward?

“I mean, we’ve played one game," Belichick said. "I don’t think anybody has established a lot at this point. Some guys are ahead of other guys, but we’ll see how that goes. I don’t know.”

Although it's not a major storyline with Cam Newton being the starting quarterback and playing well, it could be something to watch over the next few weeks.
