Another notable free agent pitcher is reportedly drawing attention from the Red Sox.

The interest makes sense considering the Red Sox' need for another starter, preferably who can slide into the middle of the rotation on a short-term deal.

Kluber's wife is from Winchester, with the couple making its offseason home in the Boston area. The two-time American League Cy Young Award winner has been working out at Cressey Sports Performance in Jupiter, Fla. (One of Kluber's workout partners has been Red Sox pitcher Tanner Houck.)

The 34-year-old suffered through a lost season in 2020 with the Rangers, pitching in just one inning.

Kluber's most recent season without injury issues was 2018 when he finished third in the Cy Young balloting, going 20-7 with a 2.89 ERA with the Indians.
