For the New Jersey Devils' mascot, apparently it's not really a party until something gets broken.

While making an appearance at a birthday party at a children's gym Sunday, NJ Devil dropped a rainbow-colored parachute and then bolted for a window, shattering it. It was obviously a joke gone wrong. After some awkward silence, the hockey mascot buried his oversized forehead in his hands.

"My son’s birthday ended with a bang!" Lawrence Chiu wrote on Twitter. "We are so ready for this season thanks NJ Devil for coming to the birthday party."

NJ Devil had some fun with the incident. In a video posted to his official Twitter account, the mascot tests some Prudential Center plexiglass before loading it into a van, presumably to replace the glass he broke.
