Eli Manning won't be doing his weekly spot on WFAN next season, Mike Francesa said on his show Monday.
The Giants quarterback has appeared on Francesa's show at 5 p.m. on Mondays for years during the football season, but he has elected not to continue the interviews.
Francesa suggested Manning's role on the team influenced his decision.
"Eli has already canceled his show for this year because he doesn't like the thought of being on that show weekly if he isn't the starting quarterback," Francesa said. "That's how sure he is he's going to be the starting quarterback this year. He sees the handwriting on the wall."
The Giants notified WFAN several weeks ago about Manning's decision. It was not a reaction to the team drafting quarterback Daniel Jones in the first round Thursday night.
