Boomer & Gio's NFL Picks: 2020 Week 2

One week into the NFL season, Gregg Giannotti is off to a roaring start in the annual Boomer & Gio Show picks competition, watching both Boomer Esiason and Jerry Recco go 2-3 (and technically Al Dukes, too, given his Week 1 $5 Parlay results) while he was a few Giants points shy of a perfect week.

Alas, with a two-game lead one week in, Gio is guaranteed at least a share of first place again after Week 2, thanks to two unanimous picks and at least one agreement with both Boomer and Jerry. But, with Jerry and Boomer in disagreement on the other three games, who will join or keep pace with Gio at the top when Monday comes?

If you missed last week’s picks, you can check them out here, and now, Week 2 from B&G (and J), brought to you by and Solo Stove:

GAME 1: LA Rams at Philadelphia (-1.5)
LA Rams
Boomer: LA Rams
Jerry: Philadelphia

Gio’s take: “This is gonna be a theme for me this year: bounce-back year. I really hate the way the Eagles blew that game against the Washington Football Team. I love the Rams, that line is way too low.”

GAME 2: Kansas City at LA Chargers (+8.5)
Kansas City
Boomer: Kansas City
Jerry: Kansas City

Jerry’s take: “I would take ‘em minus-18.5 if I had to.”

GAME 3: New England at Seattle (-4)
Gio: Seattle
Boomer: Seattle
Jerry: New England

Boomer’s take: “No 12s, meaning one of the hardest places in the NFL to play when fans are in the building. Bill Belichick said it’s like a scrimmage…but Russell Wilson is awesome and Jamal Adams is going to get into it with Cam Newton, so I’m taking the Seahawks.”

GAME 4: San Francisco at NY Jets (+7)
NY Jets
Boomer: NY Jets
Jerry: NY Jets

Gio’s take: “There are so many injuries going on with the 49ers…they’ve got issues here. Plus, the whole Super Bowl hangover thing for the loser is a real thing! Jimmy Garoppolo hasn’t been great for a long time. If the Jets have any pride or guts, they play hard this week – they won’t win, but they will keep it close.”

GAME 5: NY Giants at Chicago (-5.5)
NY Giants
NY Giants

Boomer’s take: “The Giants did lose by 10 on Monday night. Lots of great pass rushers for the other team again…I don’t buy it, I’m taking the Bears.”
