For the first time this season, the entire group of skill-position starters on the Jets offense will be playing together.

Sam Darnold, who missed the last two games due to an ACJ joint sprain in his right shoulder, will get the start for Gang Green against the Dolphins on Sunday, Adam Gase told reporters on Friday.

Darnold has missed four of his last six games due to the shoulder injury and has yet to play a game with his full set of receivers – Breshad Perriman, Jamison Crowder and rookie Denzel Mims.

“I think these guys want to see what maybe it could’ve been from the beginning of the year,” Gase said.

Added Gase: “The way he’s throwing the football right now, you can tell there’s a big difference as far as the control, the velocity, his change-of-pace on throws…It looks a lot different than the last time he tried to make a run at trying to play in a game.”

Sunday will mark the beginning of a final stretch of games that could determine the future of both Darnold and the Jets.

At 0-10, the Jets are currently in the driver’s seat to land the No. 1 pick in the draft which would put them in position to select Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence. If the Jets are committed to Lawrence, it would mean Darnold’s tenure in New York is finished.

Whether or not Darnold could be a starting quarterback elsewhere in the league may depend on how he plays in these final few games. There is also the possibility Darnold plays well enough to win a game or two for the Jets and take them out of the No. 1 draft slot, eliminating any chance at Lawrence.

Currently, the Jacksonville Jaguars are just one game behind the Jets for the top pick at 1-9 at have the Browns (7-3), Vikings (4-6), Titans (7-3), Ravens (6-4), Bears (5-5) and Colts (7-3) remaining on their schedule.

Following the Dolphins (6-4) on Sunday, the Jets have the Raiders (6-4), Seahawks (7-3), Rams (7-3), Browns (7-3) and Patriots (4-6) remaining on their schedule.
