The Senior NFL Draft Analyst for The Draft Network joined Kyle Bailey today on the Clubhouse to give his thoughts on the Panthers performance as they fell short of winning to the Raiders, and the rest of the action in week 1.
Joe started the interview saying their were some encouraging signs for Matt Rhule and the Panthers on Sunday as Teddy Bridgewater played a pretty efficient football game and Joe thought it was good to see some fight late in the team. Despite the encouraging signs Joe says the defense didn't look good, specifically the secondary as the Panthers will only face tougher receiving cores as the season progresses.
Joe was also pleasantly surprised by the play of the offensive line as Joe said:
"I'm encouraged that the O-Line was just a tick better than I thought it would be. I thought it would be a big problem for them with running mainly 5 man protections, but they gave up only 1 sack and 6 total pressures on the game was a big bright spot."
Joe then turned his direction to the underwhelming debut of Tom Brady in Tampa Bay as it made him wonder if this will all work out, but Joe also says it isn't good news for the Panthers as you don't want to face TB12 after a tough loss.
