Nick Carboni Previews the Biggest Storylines For the Panthers With the Season Opener Just Ahead

The Sports Director for WCNC Charlotte joined Kyle Bailey today on the Clubhouse to discuss the biggest news surrounding the Panthers with their season opener against the Raiders just days away.

Nick first reacted to the news of the morning that the NCAA could have all teams play in the NCAA Tournament next year as Nick told Kyle said as long as it's only a one year thing he has no problem with it.

Nick then weighed in on the 53 man roster and what stood out to him and he said Ian Thomas not being the starting tight end caught his eye along with Jermaine Carter being listed as the starting OLB, but the main thing that stood out for Nick was the lack of depth throughout the roster especially with the defensive backs.

Kyle then piggybacked off of Nick's statement on the secondary by asking how historically bad can the Panthers corners can be and Nick responded:

"It reminds you of 2016 with James Bradberry and Daryl Worley down in Atlanta giving up 300 yards from Julio Jones along with other players like Bene Benwikere, who lost their job from that game, so it could be that bad. But I'm intrigued by Troy Pride who has the MO of being really good but he and Donte are going to be exposed. Donte Jackson has all the talent in the world, but I just don't know if he can hang with the Julio Jones, Mike Evans, and Michael Thomas' of the world."
