Charlotte Observers' Rick Bonnell joined Wilson & Parcell and gave his thoughts on who the Hornets might take in the draft at third overall.

Bonnell was asked immediately about James Wiseman, Bonnell said that Wiseman will be the best overall option in the draft with maximized potential. Josh then asked about trading up for Wiseman, and Bonnell replied that calls from Hornets GM Mitch Kupchak are definitely expected if they haven’t already happened. Bonnell went on to talk about Cody Zeller’s trade value, and speculated that the team may not want to part with Malik Monk.

Nick asked about a favorite behind Wiseman, and Bonnell pointed to Anthony Edwards out of Georgia.

The guys also asked about LaMelo Ball to which Bonnell replied that he’s been “slipping” at workouts. Bonell switched gears to free agency pointing to it as a historical weakness for the team.

In closing, Bonnell made his case for international prospect Deni Advija as a top 5 draft pick.
