The Co-Host of the Morning Drive on the Golf Channel joined Kyle Bailey on the Clubhouse today as he recapped the PGA Championship at TPC Harding Park.
Damon reacted to Collin Morikawa's first major win as Damon said he was as close to flawless as you could be over the weekend, and putting his name alongside the likes of Tiger Woods, Jack Nickolaus, and Rory McIlroy as 23-year-old PGA Champions.
Kyle wanted Damon to tell him the potential that Collin has and Damon stated:
"I think he's going to be in the Justin Thomas, Jordan Speith, Rory McIlroy range at this point, but I'm not saying he's in the Tiger range yet because you're doing a disservice to the player. The pedigree however speaks volumes as he has 3 wins on the PGA tour already with him taking big leaps in his career in a short amount of time and he looks like someone who in this generation will battle to be the best."
Damon also wanted people to know that in this instance Dustin Johnson didn't blow it as he has in the past, it's just that a young player played flawless golf.
Kyle brought up Brooks Koepka's struggles yesterday before the end of the chat and Damon thinks that he and a lot of other people might have jumped the gun after his runner up performance at Southwind and expected more from him, but he thinks Brooks can come back from this and be more hungry than ever before.
