The President and Anchor for PRN joined Kyle Bailey today on the Clubhouse as he discussed the biggest topics and storylines with NASCAR starting the playoffs with one of it's biggest races in the Southern 500.
The first thing Doug discussed was how the NASCAR Playoffs work as they are unlike any other playoffs in sport, and how the importance of the final 10 races increases by the week. Doug stated that the round of 16 that includes Darlington, Richmond, and Bristol is the most intriguing round with all 3 tracks having significant history and usually put on a great show.
Kyle then asked Doug about defending champion Kyle Busch and his struggles this year and if he can get over the hump during the round of 16. Doug responded by saying the problem that Kyle (Busch) has had this year is the edge that he has with practice is gone during the pandemic, but Doug thinks something else might be wrong because he was on a 22 race drought before winning the season finale last year, and hasn't won since.
The last question that Kyle asked Doug was for him to predict who he thinks will be hoisting the Bill France Cup at the end of the year in Phoenix and Doug told Kyle:
"I think it's going to be Denny Hamlin. I think it feels like his turn and when you talk to him he has an air of confidence that he never has had before, and he has the car that can keep up with Kevin Harvick."
