For a third consecutive year, the NHL Network has ranked Buffalo Sabres forward Jack Eichel as one of the "Top-50 Players Right Now" in the National Hockey League.

Eichel comes in as the 42nd ranked player in the NHL, which is three spots better than where he was ranked last year. Back in the summer of 2017, Eichel was ranked as the 37th best player in the NHL before being knocked back eight spots.

The Sabres captain is coming off a 2018-19 season where he set a career-high in goals (28), assists (54) and points (82) in 77 games played. The 22-year-old has led the Sabres in scoring in each of the last three seasons, amassing 203 points (77+126) in 205 games.

Eichel was also ranked as the 15th-best center in the NHL Network's "Top-20 Centers Right Now" list, ahead of players like Evgeny Kuznetsov (Washington Capitals), Logan Couture (San Jose Sharks), Nicklas Backstrom (Capitals), Sean Monahan (Calgary Flames) and Elias Pettersson (Vancouver Canucks).

Eichel is Buffalo's only player ranked in any of the NHL Network's "Top Players Right Now" lists this offseason.

Rasmus Dahlin was not ranked as one of the NHL Network's "Top-20 Defensemen Right Now", despite finishing as a finalist for the Calder Trophy as the NHL's Rookie of the Year.

The rest of the NHL Network's "Top-50 Players Right Now" list will be revealed in the coming weeks.
