Buffalo, NY (WGR 550) - The Sabres kept saying Zach Bogosian was day-to-day as he was missing games down the stretch. As it turns out, Bogosian is going to be out five to six months after undergoing hip surgery. This is Bogosian's second hip surgery in 14 months, but this time it's the other hip that underwent the procedure.

I've been told surgery wasn't an option for Bogosian until after the season when he met with team doctors and specialists.

Bogosian missed 17 games with various injuries throughout the season. Bogosian’s last game was March 23 in Montreal. Before the last game of the season in Detroit, Phil Housley was forced to say that Bogosian was still day-to-day

By playing 65 games, Bogosian played in the most games in his career since 2011-12 when he also played 65.

In his four full seasons in Buffalo, Bogosian played 64, 56, 18 and 65 games.
