Diggs, White brightening stardom through one-on-ones

Perhaps the two best players on the roster can only make each other better through competition

When the regular season starts in less than two weeks, Stefon Diggs and Tre’Davious White, perhaps the two best players on the Buffalo Bills, will begin to command attention week-in and week-out.

Every offense is going to have to account for where White is on the field, who he is covering, and whether or not they can risk throwing his way. Every defense will need to make sure their top cornerback is taking care of Diggs. If not? These are two stars that have proven they can take over any game when they turn on that switch. They can wreck your ball game.

There may not be much left for two of ESPN’s top-100 players of 2020 to prove, but the battles between Diggs and White throughout the course of training camp are only making these stars shine even brighter.

Saying the one-on-ones between the two at camp have been competitive would be an understatement.

Both have their work cut out for them in 2020.

Diggs will see matchups with the likes of New England Patriots cornerback Stephon Gilmore (twice), Miami Dolphins cornerbacks Byron Jones and Xavien Howard (twice), Los Angeles Rams cornerback Jalen Ramsey, Arizona Cardinals cornerback Patrick Peterson, and San Francisco cornerback Richard Sherman.

White will be responsible for shadowing star wide receivers in like Tyreek Hill of the Kansas City Chiefs, Cardinals wideout DeAndre Hopkins, and Los Angeles Chargers receiver Keenan Allen.

But perhaps their biggest challenge is going up against each other every day at practice.

“I’m not going to see many guys on Sunday better than him,” White said. “Monday through Friday in practice is where I get better having a guy like that on the offense.”
