With a chance to start the 2020 season 5-0 on a rare Tuesday night game, the Buffalo Bills laid an egg against the Tennessee Titans in a 42-16 loss at Nissan Stadium in Nashville.
The game started off ugly with an interception from Josh Allen on the opening drive, and it started to snowball from there on both sides of the ball. The offense could not put up points despite winning the time of possession battle, the defense could not contain Ryan Tannehill and the Tennessee offense, and mistakes even bled into the special teams side of things.
With the loss in Tennessee on Tuesday, the Bills are now sitting at 4-1 in the AFC East and are getting ready for another short week with the Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs coming to town on Monday. Buffalo will be hoping to correct the mistakes from Tuesday's clobbering, while also getting some injured bodies back against the likes of Patrick Mahomes this week in Orchard Park.
As for the Chiefs, they are also coming off their first loss of the 2020 season, dropping a 40-32 decision at home to the Las Vegas Raiders, who the Bills beat in Week 4 at Allegiant Stadium.
With the Bills-Titans game rescheduled for Tuesday night after Tennessee's COVID-19 outbreak, the Tuesday tradition that is "Howard Picks the Bills" was moved to Thursday. In his Week 5 picks, Howard Simon thought the Bills were going to get to that 5-0 mark for the first time since the 1991 season, but got his first incorrect pick of the 2020 season.
This week's picks did not bode so well for the Bills as Howard has the Chiefs getting the win on Monday at Bills Stadium. However, Howard's final picks for the 2020 season still see the Bills getting into the playoffs with an 11-5 record!
