Patriots cancel practice Friday reportedly due to another COVID-19 positive test

The Patriots are getting ready to face the Broncos on Sunday after their Week 5 matchup was pushed to Week 6

The New England Patriots have cancelled practice and media availability for Friday afternoon apparently because of another positive COVID-19 test.

According to ESPN's Mike Reiss and Field Yates, the afternoon activities were cancelled after a positive coronavirus test result. There is also a second test they are awaiting to confirm is a positive.

The Patriots just got Cam Newton, Stephon Gilmore and Bill Murray back at practice on Thursday from the reserve/COVID-19 list. Byron Cowart is still on that list.

Their Week 5 game against the Denver Broncos was rescheduled for Week 6 because of multiple COVID-19 positives and the Gillette Stadium facility being shut down last week.

New England is currently scheduled to host the Broncos on Sunday, but now that is likely to come into question once again. However, NFL Network reporter Tom Pelissero is reporting that as of now, there is no change to the status of Sunday's game.

The Buffalo Bills will face the Patriots on Sunday, Nov. 1 for their Week 8 matchup at Bills Stadium.
