Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield looked like he was in for another long day when he threw an interception on his first pass attempt for the second week in a row, but the 25-year-old was able to quickly bounce back and put an ugly first quarter behind him.

All he had to do was channel some energy from famous hip hop artist DMX.

“Just got back on track. Whatever it takes to win. Stop, drop, shut ‘em down, open up shop,” he said in his Zoom postgame with reporters, causally dropping in lyrics from DMX’s Ruff Ryders’ Anthem.

Mayfield, whose struggles while playing with a rib injury led to him being benched for Case Keenum just one week ago, finished the game completing 22 of 28 passes for 297 yards and five touchdowns, including the game-winning score to Donovan Peoples-Jones on a 24-yard pass into the end zone with 15 seconds left in the game.

To make it even more impressive, he completed a Browns franchise record 21 straight completions after starting the game 0-for-5 and became just the second player in NFL history to throw three go-ahead passing touchdowns in the fourth quarter of a game, according to ESPN Stats and Info.

Prior to the final play of the game, when the Browns just needed a field goal to tie, Mayfield said he told his teammates, “Screw that. We’re going to win it.”

Needless to say, Mayfield appears to have his swagger back.
