Conference Championship Sunday did not disappoint, and we’re onto Super Bowl LV. Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs will face Tom Brady and the Tampa bay Buccaneers. Sportsbooks quickly opened the Chiefs as -3/-3.5 point favorites for the big game. The total for the game is 57, one of the highest in Super Bowl history.
Per the SuperBook in Las Vegas, the Super Bowl line opened at Kansas City -3.5, while BetMGM in New Jersey made the Chiefs -3.
Brady and the Bucs knocked off the No. 1-seeded Green Bay Packers 31-26 in Sunday's NFC Championship Game. On the other side, the defending Super Bowl Champions disposed of the Buffalo Bills 38-24 after falling behind early 9-0.
Tampa Bay will face Kansas City at Raymond James Stadium in Super Bowl LV. It's the first time in NFL history an NFL team will play in its home stadium for the Super Bowl. Brady will also be the oldest player to appear in the game.
This game is on pace to be the highest total in Super Bowl history, as compiled by ESPN's David Bearman.
It is also worth mentioning that Chiefs offensive lineman Eric Fisher left the AFC Championship with an Achilles injury and was ruled out for the rest of the game. His status for the Super Bowl is unclear as of this writing, but it doesn't look promising.
The line will change quite a few times over the next two weeks. With a marquee matchup like Mahomes vs. Brady, there is good chance Super Bowl LV is the most wagered on American sporting even of all-time.
Time for some action.
