Two local school districts plan to bring students back into the classroom

Officials in the Carbondale Area School district have announced students will begin a gradual return back into the classroom begininng Monday March 8 in a hybrid mode. The first students heading back will include prek to second grade. 3rd to ninth graders will be next March 15 then sophomores, juniors and seniors March 22.

At Monday's virtual Wilkes Barre Area school board meeting district officials are still planning to resume in person classes March 1. Also at that meeting a committee of district officials has been reviewing offers to buy Meyers High School property on Carey Ave. An update on the new school under construction was given. It is on time to be ready for the new school year
