Drake’s new music video for his song “Laugh Now Cry Later” with Lil’ Durk featured a superstar-studded cast from the sports world with Odell Beckham Jr., Kevin Durant and Marshawn Lynch all making apperances.
The video begins with Drake pulling up to the Nike headquarters in a Mercedes and stepping into the gym to play one-on-one with Nets star Kevin Durant (and while the scene is obviously staged, he appears to be doing just fine in his rehab from a torn Achilles).
After picking up some Nike apparel, Drake hits the football field to recreate the one-handed Beckham catch with the Cleveland Browns star playing the role of quarterback.
Per Taylor Rooks of Bleacher Report, Beckham said that it took a few takes until Drake was able to get the one-handed catch right.
The final cameo came from former Seattle Seahawks and Buffalo Bills star Marshawn Lynch, who showcased his skills as a linebacker rather than a running back by tackling Drake on the football field as he celebrates his one-handed catch.
“Get the f—k off the block man,” Lynch tells him, “What the f—k’s wrong with you?”
The rest of the music video is essentially a Nike commercial with Drake showcasing gear and continuing to workout.
The Toronto native also sports his Raptors hat at times through the video as Drake is a well-established Raptors fan who sits courtside at most games and was even part of the team’s victory parade last year after they won the NBA Finals.
