Kevin Hart can add children’s author to his impressive resume.
The comedian, actor, and producer will release his debut children’s book, “Marcus Makes a Movie,” this summer on June 1, 2021.
Per the press release, the novel “pulls from Kevin’s experiences as a go-getter and father of four to celebrate do-it-yourself creativity and rising against the odds to bring your dreams to life”
The book, intended for middle-grade readers, follows a boy named Marcus who dreams of making a blockbuster superhero film.
“When he’s assigned to create a movie for an after-school class, he teams up with his creative-nemesis-turned-partner Sierra to bring the superhero comic he’s written to life. Will they be able to pull off special effects with zero dollars? With the perfect amount of drive, vision, and luck, these kids from the block might just prove there’s a way to make their dreams come true,” the release adds.
“New York Times” bestselling author Geoff Rodkey co-wrote the novel, which features art from David Cooper.
Hart teased the book release on his own Instagram on Thursday writing: "Breaking news....I’m dropping my 1st children’s book on June 1st and I couldn’t be more excited about it. I wanted to give kids something that could motivate & inspire them to dream big.”
He continued: “The word NO can be discouraging to us all....which is why believing in yourself is so important. Nobody knows what you are capable of more than you. Message to the kids of this generation....THE FUTURE IS IN YOUR HANDS. Go be great and go make some new history. Click the link in my bio and pre order yours today!!!! LETS GOOOOOOOO”
“Marcus Makes a Movie” will also be available as an audiobook narrated by Hart from Listening Library.
