The biggest Miami Hurricanes football game in years is just over 24 hours away from kickoff as the Canes travel to Clemson to take on the top team in the land. Yes, Miami has been outscored 96-3 in the past two meetings between the schools but many things have changed since then. Manny Diaz has this program moving in the right direction as evidenced by the strong start. The Canes have also shown off their dynamic new offense led by offensive coordinator Rhett Lashlee and quarterback D’Eriq King.
While Miami will enter this game as two-touchdown underdogs, there is still hope amongst the Hurricane fans. King’s dual-threat ability paired with a stout running attack, an offensive line that’s stepping up, and two top tight end threats, Miami will have a chance to put up some points. The obvious question in this game will be can Miami stop the Clemson offensive attack? The Tigers have the best quarterback in the country in Trevor Lawrence along with a premier running back in Travis Etienne. Miami’s defensive line will need to get into the backfield and create some havoc to make things tough on Lawrence, and the Canes secondary has also come alive forcing FSU into three interceptions.
Miami is also taking the primetime ESPN Gameday stage for the third time in as many games. Former Cane and current radio analyst Don Bailey Jr. joined The Joe Rose Show this morning. Don gets you ready for the primetime showdown in only the way he can!
Miami and Clemson meet on Saturday night at 7:30 and the game can be heard right here on WQAM
