The Florida Panthers are set to begin the 2021 season this Sunday when they host the Blackhawks.  This new season will bring challenges on and off the ice as the Cats have already seen after their first two games against Dallas were postponed.  As far as things go on the ice, Florida will be looking to build on their playoff appearance in the bubble last season.  Coach Quenneville joined The Joe Rose Show for his first weekly appearance and he spoke about the outlook for the season.

Coach said, “I think our division is up for grabs...I think everybody has a real shot.  I think we might be flying under the radar right now and that’s not a bad thing the way I look at it.  I think our defense, we picked up a couple guys on waivers the last few days, we can have some more options as who’s pushing who and who’s playing on a given night and having some more depth, you can never have too many defensemen.  I also don’t want to underestimate our offense, we check well, I think there’s a number of guys who can make plays and score goals in our league.”

The Panther’s also got some good news as Coach told us that Sergei Bobrovsky would be back skating today.

You can listen to the Panther’s opener on Sunday at 7:00 PM right here on WQAM.
